From here you can pick up information about the sites where our records are collected. Click on the links to explore real Dragon Sites!
Derbyshire's Dragonflies and Damselflies will use a remarkable selection of wetland habitats. From tiny garden ponds in the centre of Derby to the edges of the 700 acre Carsington Reservoir and a whole host in between. In this section it is hoped to introduce a portfolio of sites of interest to the Dragonfly watcher to visit and enjoy. Only sustainable sites with public access will be highlighted. If you want your favourite spot on this section then email the details and leave the rest to Derbyshire-Dragonflies.org.uk. If there is a demand then the site may show over the border hotspots and national dragonfly places to visit. We may part exchange information with other websites for instance or provide hyper links.
All the sites listed are good places to visit to observe wildlife all year round. However if its Dragonflies and Damselflies you are after then late May to September is the best time to see adults on the wing.
