Habitat:A wonderful network of reclaimed railway lines allowing access into the magnesian limestone landscape for the natural historian. Walks through mature woodland, overlooking flower meadows and sheltered sunspots. A great place to watch the world go by. Access:Visitors to The Rowthorne Trail can park at 476648. The Teversal Trails can be accessed from the Teversal Visitor Centre at SK479615. Here there are toilets and snack facilities provided by the volunteers of the Teversal Visitor Centre. The sheltered sections of the Trails allow areas for hawker dragonflies to hunt and sun themselves. Other Natural history interest in the summer: The Trails are a delight in the summer, allowing even the hardened dragonfly and birding enthusiast to discover the joys of botany and butterflies. Limestone specialities such as Yellow Wort can be found with excellent displays of orchids. 23 species of Butterfly have been recorded in the last 10 years so take a second look at this wonderful piece of countryside. > Grub Stops:'Darter Class'. Volunteers including the odd birder or two run Teversal Visitor Centre SK 479615. Ask if Loz or Archie are in and catch up on what's about. The centre offers buttered toast and cherry slices washed down with a good brew of tea amongst a selection of snacks. Visitors can make use of the Toilets provided which include Disabled Facilities.
